As part of the CB4LeisureYWD project, we were happy to host a series of local training visits in Pristina and Mitrovica, creating valuable opportunities for learning, exchange, and cross-cultural collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed to deepen participants\u2019 understanding of inclusion and accessibility, the visits provided firsthand insight into the experiences of people with disabilities and highlighted inspiring examples of inclusive practices across Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Pristina, participants met with Team Rijad, visited the Kosovo Disability Forum, and engaged in meaningful discussions with its Executive Director, Bujar Kadriu. The program also included an interactive session with students from the Faculty of Philosophy \u2013 Department of Social Work, where participants exchanged perspectives on accessibility, social inclusion, and adapted practices in different national contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit continued in Mitrovica, where participants explored the work of Down Syndrome Kosova and its social enterprise caf\u00e9 Bistro x21, gaining insight into initiatives that promote employment opportunities and social inclusion for people with Down syndrome. At the S\u00eb Bashku Center, participants took part in discussions and experienced Baskin, an inclusive form of basketball that enables people with and without disabilities to play together, led by the Zanandrea team from Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program also included a meeting with representatives of the Kosovo Boccia Federation, who shared their efforts to expand inclusive sports opportunities through the promotion of boccia as both a recreational and competitive sport, advancing accessibility, participation, and equal opportunities for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than a series of visits, these activities served as a platform for building connections, exchanging knowledge, and strengthening cooperation across borders. Through shared experiences and dialogue, participants contributed to a more inclusive and collaborative future for youth and communities throughout the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
