Our Impact & Experience
Since 2015, Building the Balkans has worked with young people, youth workers, and partner organizations across Kosovo, the Western Balkans, and Europe through educational, community-based, and international cooperation initiatives.
Our organization has implemented and contributed to projects focused on youth empowerment, inclusion, sustainable development, intercultural dialogue, media literacy, and social entrepreneurship, with a strong emphasis on non-formal education and active participation.
Through Erasmus+ and regional partnerships, we continue to create opportunities for young people from diverse communities and backgrounds — including young people with different abilities and fewer opportunities — to learn, connect, and contribute to positive social change.

Our Approach
Building the Balkans is a youth-driven organization working to empower young people through non-formal education, inclusion, and active participation in society. Our work brings together young people from diverse communities and backgrounds to develop skills, exchange experiences, and contribute to positive social change.
Through local and international partnerships, we design and implement initiatives focused on sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, intercultural dialogue, media literacy, and inclusive youth work. We believe that education, cooperation, and participation are essential in building resilient and inclusive communities across Kosovo and the Western Balkans.

Youth Empowerment & Non-Formal Education
We empower young people through non-formal education, training programmes, and international exchanges that strengthen their skills, confidence, and active participation in society.

Inclusion & Equal Opportunities
We promote inclusive youth work and support the participation of young people with different abilities and fewer opportunities. Through educational, sport, and community activities we aim to create spaces where all young people can learn, contribute, and develop their potential.

Social Entrepreneurship & Employability
We support young people in developing entrepreneurial ideas, practical skills, and creative initiatives that improve employability and encourage innovative solutions to social challenges.

Sustainability
We promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices through youth initiatives, community engagement, and educational activities that encourage responsible use of natural resources.

Intercultural Dialogue & Cooperation
We foster cooperation and understanding among young people from different communities in Kosovo and the Balkans, encouraging dialogue, diversity, and peaceful collaboration.
